At The Brooklyn Research and Publishing Institute (BRPI), we are committed to maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the scholarly record. To support this, we implement the CrossMark initiative from Crossref, which provides a standardized way for readers to identify the current status of a document and access any updates, corrections, or retractions.

The CrossMark icon is placed on the HTML and PDF versions of our published articles. By clicking the CrossMark icon, readers can verify that they are viewing the most recent and authoritative version of the article.

What Does CrossMark Indicate?

When you see the CrossMark logo on an article published by BRPI, it means that the publisher is committed to:

  • Keeping the content up to date
  • Providing transparency regarding updates, corrections, or retractions
  • Maintaining a clear version-of-record for all published content

Types of Updates We Provide via CrossMark

Corrections: For minor errors that do not affect the overall findings of the paper.

Retractions: For major issues such as ethical breaches, data fabrication, or significant errors that invalidate the findings.

Addenda: For additional information related to the original article.

Editorial Notes: For publisher or editorial team notices related to the article.

Article Version Updates: For any version changes, such as post-publication revisions or updates to supplementary material.

Metadata and Maintenance

As part of our CrossMark implementation, we regularly submit article metadata, including update history, to Crossref. This ensures that anyone accessing our content through the CrossMark system will receive the latest information about an article’s status and any updates it has undergone.

Look for the CrossMark logo on both the PDF version of the article and its homepage on our website to verify the publication’s current status and access any updates.
